We were preparing for our students' recital when I learned that I was pregnant with Pablo in 2004. I had promised my favorite student, Andee, that I would pen a song for her to sing at the said recital. Instead of writing the lyrics, I felt the Spirit leading me to add music to a verse in Psalm 86. This verse reflects my heart for my son as he grows up.
This song has been my lullaby for Pablo when I put him to sleep or set him up for his naps. I usually have my hand on one of his feet which he has gotten used to. Andee was then 6 years old when we recorded it. (I have yet to find a way to upload the Audio -- I'm having a hard time with my copy).
that I may walk in Your truth
give me an undivided heart
that I may fear Your Name
I will praise You Oh Lord my God
with all my heart
I will glorify Your Name forever
We're on our 2nd week of Art Playgroup! Just a little backgrounder: Jay and I decided to put a structure in our homeschooling already and prepare Pablo for the homeschooling set-up. I wanted a playgroup day, as well, as part of his activities, so I went up to a few homeschooling mommies in our church to invite them to an Art Playgroup.
The concept of the Art Playgroup is that there'll be short circle time (some singing, rhymes and action activities) and a couple of Art activities with their parents and/or nannies assisting them with the gluing, letting them color the pics, and snack time in between. Afterwhich, we let them play on the couple of slides at the other side of the room.
So far, it's been going well. Although, yesterday, 3 of the kids didn't make it, still, the kids and the mommies had a blast!

So apparently our crib is a part of the Jardine recall.
This is super annoying to me.
My MIL mentioned the recall to me yesterday and I of course forgot to check his crib last night when we got home. Thankfully BRU/TRU sent an email with a link to their site about the recall and I was reminded to go check. While I can't remember the name of our crib I thought one of the names sounded familiar yesterday but could no longer access our BRU registry to confirm that. So the email today from BRU/TRU has our crib pictured and I checked and our model number is listed. So I put our info into the form on the Jardine site and looked at what we have to do to get the voucher and I'm thouroughly annoyed right now. What exactly am I supposed to do in the several weeks it will take to do all this crap? Where is he to sleep when he'll climb out of the PNP if we pull that out.
I'm contemplating seeing if nana and papa are willing to get a toddler bed and let us use it for a few weeks till all is sorted out and we have a new crib/toddler bed. They are still sleeping him in the PNP which won't work for much longer and they will have to do something different soon. Apparently using bed rails on a twin bed they already had was not very successful :)
We are supposed to immediately stop using the crib, but where to put it?
I guess he could sleep on his mattress on the floor for a few days.
I'm just totally annoyed.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
THAT would Be My Dream Job! I Just realized that Today. I Love to Sing and I Love to tell stories and I Love to perform! When I tell the boys the classic stories (Cinderella, Little Red Robin Hood) I always end up incorporating a song from Sonheim's Into The Woods. (Yes, I am a dorky parent) They Love It! And I do Too!!!
I think it would be a Blast!
hmmm.....wonder how'd I get started.......???
I just found this great website that helps you get organized and the best part . . . its free!!
Its called Cozi.com. It has a place for grocery lists, general lists, a private mini journal (great for quicks notes of the day that can later be used for inspiration when blogging on your own personal blog), a calender with event scheduler and more stuff thats pretty useful. Also, its all online so you access it anywhere, and you can even have some of the content texted to yourself or another family member in a flash.
I know i sound like a commercial but I really like this thing lol.
What's your favorite time of day and why?
I have 2 different times i love . . .
The kids are always keeping me busy. There's always some kind of commotion going on, good or bad. But usually, in the morning, about 9:30 am the kids have had breakfast and settled into some artsy or crafty activity. Its so great to see them focusing on something so intently. I usually join them, but sometimes I just watch. Its one, if not the only completely peaceful part of the day I spend with the kids.
and then there's 9:30 pm . . . yes about 12 hrs later . . . when the kids are all tucked in bed.
I love this time. I've cleaned up the dinner mess and now I can take the time to just chill. Sometimes my husband takes a break from his freelance endeavors and joins me. We talk, have a drink, or maybe something caffeinated (to prep for a late night working) and sometimes we indulge with the latest Netflix (if things freelance-wise are slow.)
For a busy mom and dad these moments are like tiny little vacations in an otherwise hectic life.
He wasn't as excited about homeschool today as he was last week. Maybe because he was enjoying his new battery operated car a bit to much and didn't want to drop it for his worksheets. Good thing, Jay came home unexpectedly because of some car trouble, and had to adjust the rest of his schedule for the day. Only then did Pablo really got into our homeschool activities.
Today's Social Studies lesson was about Benjamin Franklin. We showed Pablo a cartoon picture of Benjamin Franklin as we read to him a short text about the American hero signing the Declaration of Independence and all. Pablo stared long and hard at the picture in front of him. B. Franklin's cartoon had on one of those old-fashioned coats and was quite heavy on the belly. As I was asking Pablo to repeat B.Franklin's name after me, he points to the picture and corrects me, "Benjamin Penguin!:
